What is the fourth turning? And how can it help us through the current crisis?
In 1987, William Strauss and Neil Howe came up with the term “Millennials” to describe the ‘Hero’ generation born from 1982 as part of the “third turning”. At the same time they predicted the crisis we are facing today as part of the “fourth turning”, and the dramatic end of the age we are in.
Right now we are in the final five years of the fourth turning, with the destruction of the old and the birth of a new. By 2025, the age of nation states will come to an end, and we will begin a new great age like nothing we’ve seen before.
