In order to ensure you have healthy boundaries that serve you and the lifestyle you want to live, you need to find your inner voice and not be afraid to tell people how you truly feel. Your opinion matters and those around you, who truly matter, will listen. Your confidence and self-assertiveness will lead to people respecting your personal boundaries and space and will make them think twice before crossing your line. Boundaries are basically about providing structure and structure is essential in building anything that thrives.

I recommend setting strong personal boundaries to all my clients in order for them to set enough time and energy for themselves. Which is needed for personal growth, development and the reflection time required to make the necessary changes for them to become the best possible versions of themselves. Healthy boundaries are not walls. They are the gates and fences that allow you to enjoy the beauty of your own garden.

For this reason, you should be valuing yourself enough to respect your needs and make yourself a priority. Identifying what your boundaries are and expressing them to those around you, will improve your self-esteem and assist in saving your emotional energy. Setting boundaries is thus a means of taking responsibility for your own happiness and ensuring people do not take advantage of you. You should therefore behave according to your own morals and beliefs in defending your integrity. As your personal boundaries protect the inner core of your identity and your right to choices. As a result of having clearly defined boundaries, your relationships will strengthen as each person is aware of what you are comfortable with.

You deserve to put yourself first, if you aren’t coping, are feeling overwhelmed and realize that a situation isn’t working for you anymore, do not hold back in changing your environment, try to set new rules for yourself, learn the power of saying no and have the courage to make changes in your route. Listen to your heart and body and remember nothing is set in stone. Setting new boundaries will facilitate growth and movement in your life, which is necessary to maintain a positive self-concept and for managing issues of recovery.

Having healthy boundaries is a form of self-love and self-respect. Make your life work for you so that you can live a life that you love.
