
Four years ago Catherine was running multiple business, felt disconnected from her family and not aligned with her passions. Today, she’s running her own successful coaching business with the Wealth Dynamics Vector cards and has more time to spend with her kids.
What inspired Catherine to step up into her passion, and how did she use social media to create traction as a start-up coach?
Catherine first heard about Entrepreneurs Institute and Roger James Hamilton when preparing for a photoshoot for one of the creative companies she ran with her husband.
“I was intrigued when a friend of mine started talking about business profiling and personality types, and how being a Lord profile impacted her business running a team. As a client manager and working in teams, I was instantly curious. So I went home and googled the company and went to the next event they were running in Australia.
At the Fast Forward Summit, Roger talked about the pathway to becoming a Flow Consultant. I was thinking about how I could apply it to my photography business… when Roger pulled out this deck of cards. I felt this tug within me, and I knew I needed those cards! Roger used the Vector Cards to show my relationship with my husband, and break down how our profiles meant there were ways to get into flow together. I signed up for the Flow Consultant certification that day.
We had the training in Bali, and I immediately found ways I could create traction. The coaching and consultation practices we learnt as Flow Consultants were immediately applicable, and when I got back to Australia I was really inspired to start my coaching.
The Wealth Dynamics Vector cards were a tool through which I could niche my practice and they helped with doing the Wealth Dynamics Profile debriefs. They were a visual tool that became entirely integrated in my coaching!”
Catherine’s coaching business took off when she started building a social media presence. Through adding value to the Entrepreneur Community, Catherine’s coaching was sought out. As a Flow Consultant, Catherine was also given Mentor Status on GeniusU to build her business.
“I found that by getting active on social media, and active on GeniusU, I could speak a language everyone already understood. I worked through each of the Microdegrees, and my presence on GeniusU became more visible. I made sure that I was active daily, posting valuable content and creating circles, and getting reviewed for my mentoring - and now everything has grown. The community and my engagement on GeniusU is slightly different than on Facebook and other social media, because I get to engage with people that are already high-level entrepreneurs.
From being active on GeniusU I decided I would host a group webinar. I knew I just had to commit and see what happened, but I’d never run a webinar before! I got a lot of interest when I announced it, and hosted it through GeniusU with an awesome turnout of entrepreneurs within our community. I hosted another webinar, and noticed the learnings I was having through connecting with consultants and mentors in our community in a new way. Following this strategy as a mentor on GeniusU, I made more money in one day than I had made in any month before that”
Catherine knew she had an opportunity to focus solely on her coaching as she was creating so much attraction - but she still had so much going on. Catherine had to make a choice about what her priorities were, and she knew she wanted to spend more time with her family.
“I had all of these businesses I was running, and I thought I was at green level. On a call with Roger, he said to me ‘you’re not at green level… you’re just a yellow level octopus’. I didn’t have any systems in place that I was managing, I was just being reactive and running around trying to get things done.
So I knew I had to step out of some of these creative businesses, firstly because I needed to focus, and because I wanted more time with my family! The Flow Consultant certification made it really clear to me that I could, and that I wanted to, do my own thing. Something I’m really passionate about. It’s been such a gift. And scary too!
Through GeniusU and the webinars I ran I took on long term clients for individual coaching, and I will be uploading my own Microdegree that will eventually lead to a Wealth Dynamics Vector Cards retreat in the future.”
Catherine went from no coaching business at all, to bringing on committed long-term clients within a year, and running a business she’s passionate about. Watch this space for her Vector Cards Microdegree!
