The best answer I could find for South Africa is actually in a document from a major global accounting firm but be careful - it may be out of date https://assets.kpmg.com/content/dam/kpmg/xx/pdf/2017/11/ess-survey-13-nov-17.pdf

  Thanks Yun Bashirian - I was actually only naming a few countries as examples - Russia and Japan for instance also have GST/VAT laws for businesses who sell to people living in their countries.

  Understand that Annamaria Skiles but every country has tax laws and every threshold is different and there is no definitive pool of information out there that is consistently kept up to date for all countries all of the time. There are some specialist accountants your accountant should be able to pull in for advice but I would say you may need to be specific about the country.

Finally Annamaria Skiles I would recommend you go and see your tax accountant and ask them to research it for you and ensure your invoices are compliant. Ask them if they can register you in the other country and use them as a valuable team member in this...

Dear Annamaria Skiles - in dealing with EU, the "problem" (tasks) is on their part! You should only worry about your end (the tax laws etc. of your own country)

  But again, remember that the laws of the country of origin of your customer is not your problem ;-)
