Akhilesh Bhargava is the Managing Director of AVI Global Plast Private Limited, ranked among India’s largest and top-most Rigid Packaging solution companies. He is a social entrepreneur focused on reducing food wastage through environment-friendly packaging that is made from 80% plastic waste. His packaging solutions increase the shelf life of perishable food commodities and reduce damage during storage and transit.

Akhilesh is a renowned Plastic Environmentalist and social activist. He has actively worked alongside “Champion of the Earth” recipient Afroz Shah to reduce marine litter by successfully putting EPR into motion for the plastic industry. With extensive experience in Plastic Waste Management, Recycling, Plastic Processing, Packaging, Thermoforming, and Plastics Recycling, he is committed to managing plastic waste to minimize its effect on our marine bodies and environment. 

Akhilesh is the Chairman of the Environment Committee at the All India Plastic Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA) since 2013. In this role, he is responsible for minimizing the environmental impact of plastic waste through advocacy, launching waste collection and recycling projects, legal intervention and government consultations on behalf of the industry. Akhilesh is an MBA post-graduate from Mumbai University and an INSEAD alum.
