While this proved essential in battle, it was also the foundation of their peacetime activities, in which they cultivated themselves through the Zen Arts of Calligraphy, Tea Ceremony, and Noh Drama.

 

They recognized that many troubles in society were trigged by a people who failed to do this, who allowed hidden pressures to build up, forcing a series of poor judgments, unnecessary clashes, which could trigger panic in an individual, and pandemonium in a group. The secrets of the Samurai could often prevent a crisis, or demonstrate leadership to lead people out of a crisis.

With almost 50 years of experience and immersion in Martial Arts and Japanese culture (and still childlike curiosity and fascination), the Samurai Secrets session was insightful and practical at the same time. Had my session with Will and it was so much fun. We have a lot in common as far as martial arts interests. I have a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, have studied sword forms, Tai Chi, and took 1 year of Krav Maga and Hapkido. I love the theology of the Samurai for mind control, and calm spirit. It was a good session and will be practicing a lot more on calming the breath. Highly recommend this session.
