    Do you mean you've already done the work? If so, I feel you have to keep going and if all fails, put it in the hands of a debt collector. If you haven't done the work, then they are not your client and run as fast as you can in the opposite direction!

    Agree with Elaine. But also always make a written agreement with them, before you start. Both so there is no doubt about the price, and if need be after you got the proof.
